Did you know that experts recommend patients should undergo no more than six cycles of clomiphene citrate?*

Clomiphene Citrate: Length of Treatment

Clomiphene citrate induces ovulation in roughly 80% of appropriate patients, 75% of whom will achieve pregnancy during treatment. However, the flipside to this equation is that roughly 40–44% of women treated with clomiphene citrate won't get pregnant. That's why it's important to work with your healthcare provider to closely monitor your response to treatment, and to discuss other treatments options if clomiphene citrate isn't successful.

The American Society for Reproductive Medicine recommends that clomiphene citrate be generally limited to the minimum effective dose and used for no more than six ovulatory cycles. [1]

If clomiphene citrate therapy has not worked for you within the recommended length of treatment, your healthcare provider should reevaluate your condition. At this time, if you're being treated by your primary care physician or OB/GYN, he or she may decide to refer you to a Fertility Specialist, also called a Reproductive Endocrinologist (RE).

It may help to discuss your length of treatment before you begin taking clomiphene citrate. That way, you'll know when the time is appropriate for you and your healthcare provide to discuss alternative treatment options.

Find a Fertility Specialist, Reproductive Endocriniologist (RE) in your area.

You may experience side effects while taking Serophene® (clomiphene citrate tablets USP). Always inform your healthcare provider if you experience side effects while taking your medication.
